The underside of the bow was skinned with 0.4mm plywood, over the frames. The joint between the curved surfaces was reinforced with epoxy and tissue. The forward and aft sections were joined, and the side decks were glued in place.
The forward and rear cabins were made from 0.8mm plywood. The top of the forward cabin had a circular hole cut in it, above the lift unit. The roof was lined with 1.5mm balsa strips, which helped to hide the intake from view.
